Sam Rayburn is my home lake. It spans over 114,000 acres.  It's primary types of cover are shoreline vegetation, hydrilla, standing timber, and man-made brush piles. It's one of the premier bass and crappie fisheries in the state. Other things to do near Sam Rayburn are golfing at Sam Rayburn Resort, shopping for all your favorite fishing products at Tackle Addict, and shopping in downtown Lufkin and nearby Nacogdoches. The closest airport is Angelina County Airport located in Lufkin, Texas.
